12 Nagpur Police personnel have been quarantined after a 22-year-old young man tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday (May 6) after his death. The deceased, who was a resident of Parvati Nagar, was admitted to GMCH, where he died on Tuesday (May 5).
It is being reported that the deceased youth was a relative of one of the constable, who is a part of Detection Branch (DB) of Beltarodi police. The constable and seven other members of his team have been put into institutional quarantine. Other than that, four more cops from Ajni Police Station, who had conducted the panchnama of the deceased, have also been put under home quarantine.Also read: Nagpur got its first 100 COVID-19 cases in 45 days, got another 100 in just 12 days
After the death of the 22-year-old, the entire area of Parvati Nagar was sanitized and several people were taken by NMC to be put into institutional quarantine. It is to be noted that till the death of the 22-year-old, most cases turning out to be positive were connected to Satranjipura and Mominpura patients. The 22-year-old’s case from Parvati Nagar has instilled fear among many about the area emerging as a new COVID-19 hotspot in the city.
