Even as the COVID-19 positive cases continue to rise in Nagpur, what comes as good news is the fact that 227 out of 373 patients (as of 3:30 pm on May 18) in the city have been discharged after recovery. While 102 patients have been discharged from GMCH, 125 patients have been discharged from IGGMCH.

The rate of recovery of the patients in the city has increased after the discharge policy was changed by the Union Health Ministry a week ago. As per the new policy, a patient can be discharged from the hospital (without conducting a COVID-19 test) after 10 days if the patient is asymptomatic.

Here are the details of COVID-19 patients in the city as of 3:30 pm on May 18:

» Total COVID-19 positive patients currently: 127

- GMC - 80*

- IGGMCH - 47*

» Total number of COVID-19 positive cases: 373

- GMCH - 185*

- IGGMCH - 176*

(P.S* - Two case at GMCH have been referred from Amravati and Chandrapur and one case at IGGMCH is referred from Amravati)
