Union Health Mansukh Mandaviya, on Monday, October 4, claimed that 70% of the eligible population in India was partially vaccinated against COVID-19.
This meant that 70% of the adults in India were vaccinated against COVID-19 with the first dose.
Along with this, the Union Health Ministry, in a written statement, mentioned that India administered 90.79 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine to date.
Mandaviya took to Twitter and wrote, “Strong Nation, Rapid Vaccination: India has administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination on 70% of the population.”
“Under PM Narendra Modi ji, India is achieving new landmarks in the fight against the pandemic. Keep it up India, let us fight Corona,” he added.
His remarks came amid third wave speculations, which were concerning, said, experts.
A couple of days ago, the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) had issued an advisory to citizens to stay alert incoming six-eight weeks amid festivities.
