Versatile actor Ajay Devgn who was last seen in the movie ‘Raid,’ will be portraying the role of the great thinker - Chanakya - in director Neeraj Pandey’s next film.

Pandey, who is known for directing films like Special 26, Baby, MS Dhoni: The untold Story, etc., will be collaborating with Devgn for the first time. Speaking about working with Pandey, Devgn in a statement, said, “I am truly looking forward to playing Chanakya. I’ve followed Neeraj Pandey’s work closely and I know Neeraj will tell this story with the clarity and passion with which it needs to be told.”

Commenting on the film, Pandey in a statement said, “I have been developing this film on Chanakya for quite some time now. It's an exciting work of passion for me, and I am sure the audiences will love Ajay in his portrayal of the visionary genius."

Neeraj Pandey’s film about Chanakya will be produced by Reliance Entertainment and Friday Filmworks’ Plan C Studios. Meanwhile, Devgn is on signing spree. The actor has recently signed Total Dhamaal and will also be seen in Sons of Sardaar: The Battle of Saragrahi and Luv Ranjan’s untitled film with Ranbir Kapoor.
