Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Monday, gave a befitting reply to the Opposition on Pegasus report and invoked his famous phrase ‘Aap Chronology Samajhiye’ (understand the chronology), once again, after last heard in 2020 with respect to CAA and NRC.
Shah, the Union Co-operation Minister, said that the timing of the Pegasus report was framed to disturb the monsoon session of parliament.
Shah’s comments came after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) as ‘Bharatiya Jasoos Party.’
Pegasus is Israel’s spyware, which was allegedly used to target politicians, journalists and others from 2017 to 2019.
If a few reports were to be believed, more than 300 phones from India were tapped. However, no proof of the same could be obtained.
Shah, in a press note, which was released on his official website, said, “People have often associated this phrase with me in lighter vein but today I want to seriously say - the timing of the selective leaks, the disruptions…Aap Chronology Samajhiye! This is a report by the disrupters for the obstructers.”
It further stated that disrupters were global organisations, which do not like India to progress.
Obstructers were political players in India, who do not want India to progress. People of India were very good at understanding this chronology and connection.
“I want to assure the people of India that the Modi govt’s priority is clear –‘National Welfare’ and we will keep working to achieve that no matter what happens,” the press note concluded.
