Kanika Kapoor, the Bollywood singer best known for her songs like Baby Doll, Chittiyan Kalaiyaan, etc., tested positive coronavirus disease on Friday. She is probably the first Bollywood celebrity to contract the disease. Kapoor has been admitted to the King George’s Medical University hospital in Lucknow where she is undergoing treatment.
As per reports, the 41-year-old singer returned to Lucknow from London last week, after which she hosted a party for her family and friends at a lavish five-star hotel. Her father Rajiv Kapoor told the media that she had attended three more parties after arriving in Lucknow.
Kapoor informed about her health to her through an Instagram post. She wrote that she developed the symptoms four days back after which she got herself tested and was later diagnosed with Coronavirus. Kapoor wrote, “My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. Contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway as well. I was scanned at the airport as per normal procedure 10 days ago, the symptoms only developed 4 days ago.”
She further appealed to her fans to practice self-isolation and get tested if they have the symptoms.
