Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the current Leader of Opposition in State Assembly, Devendra Fadnavis, commenting on the Union Budget 2021, said that it was confident, self-reliant and a farmer-friendly budget.
His reaction came a few hours after, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget in Lok Sabha, on Monday. Also, he thanked FM Sitharaman and PM Modi for giving an ‘Aatmanirbhar’ budget to India, amid a global pandemic.
Fadnavis, in a social media video, said, “Public procurement was doubled under MSP in BJP tenure compared to Congress. This budget is a boon to farmers as spending on Agri sector was increased by five times the last year.”
“Many believed that the amount spent will shrink but this budget has silenced that opposition and cleared the myths. More than one crore jobs will be created and public participation will increase,” he added.
