In order to protest against the Centre’s three farm laws, demand their repeal and protest against fuel price hike, the Maharashtra Congress Committee on Saturday, gheraoed Raj Bhavan in Nagpur.
The protest was observed under the leadership of Maharashtra Congress President Balasaheb Thorat.
Hundreds of party workers and protesting Nagpur citizens were seen holding Congress and Cylinder banners to protest against hike in LPG gas price and farm laws.
‘Bhuka insaan, maje me Shaitan,’ ‘Garibo ko apman, nahi sahega Hindustan,’ Julmebazi band karo, ab mehengai khatam karo,’ the public shouted as several Congress leaders addressed them during the two-hour-long protest.
“The BJP government has started the work of destroying farmers by introducing anti-farmer black agriculture laws. On the other hand, they are looting the common citizens by increasing fuel rates. Central government should immediately withdraw these black agriculture laws and fuel rates,” the Maharashtra State Revenue Minister said during his address.
