Because of the 21-day lockdown imposed by PM Narendra Modi to contain the spread of COVID-19, couple from Maharashtra decided to get married over video call on April 3.

Mohammad Minhajudd from Aurangabad tied knot with his bride from Beed via a video call since there were no marriage halls available due to the lockdown. The groom’s father, Mohammad Gayaz said that the marriage was fixed between the two, six months ago, when there were no signs of coronavirus outbreak.

Gayaz informed that the couple got married over video call in presence of elders of the family. Mufti Anis ur Rehman, Qazi, who performed the rituals, said, “Both the families are happy as the marriage ceremony was simple and was successfully conducted with minimal cost.”
