A locality with 26,000 people from 3,000 homes in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district has been sealed and people have been asked to home-quarantine themselves after a couple, who organised a function there, tested positive for coronavirus on April 2.
After the couple tested positive, 10 more people, who came in contact with them, also tested positive on Friday. Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) RS Bakna told PTI that people in the Morena locality, comprising ward number 47 in Prem Nagar and surrounding areas, had attended a party organised by the couple on March 20.Also read: COVID-19: Amid lockdown, Maharashtra couple gets married over video call
“The man had returned from Dubai on March 17, later both he and his wife were tested positive. As a precautionary measure, around 26,000 people have been told to quarantine themselves for 14 days. 22 people living close to the couple’s residence have been sent for testing,” he added.
