An undertrial prisoner lodged at Vadodara Central Jail in Gujarat has donated Rs one lakh to the Chief Minister Relief Fund to help fight COVID-19. The prisoner, Balsinh Boria, is in Vadodara Central Jail after being booked under Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organized Crime Act.

The cheque was handed over by Boria’s mother – Kamla Boria - to the deputy collector of Savarkundla in Amreli district. Kamla Boria laos informed that as per her son’s wish the family members will also be distributing food packets among the poor.

With the rising cases of coronavirus in the country, help is pouring from everywhere to fight the pandemic. But this is probably the only instance till now that an undertrial prisoner has come forward to help.
