Directorate of Education (DoE) of the Delhi government, on Wednesday, September 29, issued an executive order mandating teachers to get vaccinated by October 15.
If failed to do so, teachers won’t be allowed to enter schools and their absence would be considered as ‘leave.’
Along with the teachers, the orders were also binding for other non-teaching school staff and workers.
The order read that in wake of the COVID-19 global pandemic, it was necessary to ensure the total safety of students and teachers.
The schools in Delhi were opened in a phased manner, but still, the danger of the virus still remained.
To avoid unnecessary catastrophe, DoE took this vital step of ensuring that the teachers were fully vaccinated before joining schools.
The order would be applicable to only government schools, private institutions were exempted from it.
