Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the current Leader of Opposition, Devendra Fadnavis, on Thursday, called out CM Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government, on metro car shed construction at Aarey and said that it would be a huge financial loss to Mumbaikars.
He sent a letter to the CM Thackeray on the same and held a press conference to make the news public.
“There was no need to shift the car shed to Kanjurmarg , Aarey was capable of delivering 54 car depots till 2053. More than 400 trees will have to be cut to relocate the car shed,” said Fadnavis.
“At Aarey the construction would around Rs 500-700 crore but at Kanjurmarg an additional cost of more than Rs 1300 crore would be required,” he added.
He once again asked the CM to relocate the project to Aarey from Kanjurmarg.
