In a shameful act, Principal at Dr Hari Bhau Admane Arts & Commerce College in Saoner, Nagpur, Virendra Jumde was arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting a teenage girl on Thursday, July 22. As it was raining heaving on Thursday, some staff, that had come to the college for taking online classes left for home while some stayed back. Jumde, along with some of his colleagues reportedly stayed back, partied and strip danced after getting drunk. Post the party, semi-nude Jumde, reportedly, went to a house of a teenager in the nearby slum to sleep. That’s when he allegedly exploited her. The teenager filed a complaint against Jumde on Friday at Saoner Police Station. Maruti Mulak Senior Police Inspector registered a case against Jumde under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The court sent Jumde to judicial custody. Earlier, even during lockdown, cops had raided the college after several were found partying. In 2016, Nagpur University had debarred Jumde from all examination work for allegedly sexually harassing its woman lecturer.
