Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, on September 22, Wednesday, said that the state government would be giving ₹2 lakh to each family who lost a member due to COVID-19.
Also, he said that the state government would also sanction ₹5,000 to each person, who suffered due to loss in business during COVID-19 pandemic.
In a function organised at the Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji, CM Sawant distributed cheques worth ₹2 lakh and ₹5,000 to respective beneficiaries.
As per CM Sawant, nearly 50,000 Goa citizens would be benefited from this scheme.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “Presented Sanction Orders of Rs 5000/- to people from unorganised sector affected by COVID-19, today at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji. Our Government stands with the people who have been impacted economically by this pandemic.”

Along with six other states in India, Assembly elections would be held in Goa soon.
