The decision to let these two establishments operate has been taken keeping in mind the fact that dhabas and truck repair shops are both essential for thousands of people engaged in transportation of both essential and non-essential commodities across the country. The move also aims at better facilitation of movement of trucks throughout India.

Apart from highway dhabas and truck repair shops, the central government has also given permission to movement of vehicles of e-commerce companies and services provided by self-employed persons like electricians, carpenters, etc.
