Maharashtra Government on Monday announced that all the people who are home quarantined because of coronavirus pandemic will be stamped on the left hand.

Maharashtra Government on Monday announced that all the people sent to 100 percent ‘home quarantine’ because of coronavirus pandemic will be stamped on the left hand. The decision has been taken with an intention to identify quarantined people easily if they mingle with the public.

The decision was taken at a meeting of top officials chaired by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The decision is said to be a precautionary measure keeping in mind the fact that most cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Maharashtra.

Health Minister Rajesh Tope informed that the stamp imprinted on the left hand is on the lines of the indelible ink applied to voters during elections. The stamp will indicate that the person is under compulsory home quarantine till March 31.
