Veteran film producer Rajkumar Barjatya and father of filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya passed away today morning at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. Rajkumar was the son of Rajshri Pictures’ founder Tarachand Barjatya. However, the cause of his death remains unknown so far.

Rajkumar was the producer of films namely Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!, Vivaah, Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, Hum Saath Saath Hain, and Maine Pyar Kiya. He is survived by wife Sudha and son Sooraj.
Trade analyst Komal Nahata tweeted, “Terribly shocking news. Shri Rajkumar Barjatya passed away some minutes back at Reliance Hurkissondas Hospital. Can’t believe this. Met him just a week back at his Prabhadevi office. He spent so much time with me and my family. He looked perfectly alright then. And now, he’s gone!”

Most humble & amazingly knowledgable human being. Had a childlike curiosity. I loved speaking to him for hours about goodness. He practiced it. Will miss him. #OmShanti????
