Setting a precedent, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) slapped a fine of Rs 5000 on Ravi Bhavan officials for lack of cleanliness and encroachment under the directives of NMC Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe.
A search team of the NMC reached Ravi Bhavan on Friday and fined the managers up to Rs 5,000 for the uncleanness and stench found in the area. The team, led by Mundhe, took the action along with Virasan Tambe chief of the investigation team.
As per NMC, “Even when there was a trash can, the garbage was lying outside. Plastic bottles, tree wastes were lying on the ground. The uncleanness was also found near the water cooler. Despite repeated calls for cleanliness in the area of government buildings, now NMC has imposed a penalty of Rs 5000. This action is being widely appreciated everywhere.”
