Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, October 21, confidently said that India now has a ‘Suraksha Kawach’ (protection) of 100-crore vaccinations against the deadly Coronavirus.
He said the same while virtually inaugurating the Infosys Foundation Vishram Sadan at National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Jhajjar Campus of AIIMS, Delhi.
Expressing his gratitude towards frontline workers and health staff, PM Modi said, “This is achievement belongs to every Indian. I express my gratitude towards vaccine manufacturers, health workers and all others involved in this vaccination program.”
“This day will be registered as the golden day in India's history. We've achieved this feat in 9 months only, hence I congratulate everyone,” said Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya who was virtually present at the event.
PM Modi also visited a vaccination site at Delhi's RML Hospital as India achieved the landmark of administrating 100-crore COVID-19 vaccine doses.
There, he interacted with a specially-abled beneficiary. He also enquired about the functioning of the hospitals’ vaccination centre from the staff.
