Both the houses of parliament, Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, today, were adjourned as Opposition MP’s protested against Centre in the ongoing monsoon session.
On the first day of monsoon session, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Speaker Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, adjourned the proceedings of the houses as leaders from the Opposition raised slogans, created ruckus and disturbed parliamentary procedures.
As per latest updates, Lok Sabha is set to resume at 3:30 pm and Rajya Sabha will meet at 3 pm.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Leader of House in the Rajya Sabha Piyush Goyal, condemned Oppositions’ behaviour.
“We condemn the manner in which Opposition MPs behaved on the first day of the session today. We saw a very unfortunate situation, both in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. In Rajya Sabha, the address of the Chairman was interrupted too,” said Goyal.
Also, Rajnath Singh raised an objection against the uproar while Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was introducing his Council of Ministers in the House.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal staged a protest against farm laws outside parliament, which was led by SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal.
