The newly inducted 12 Congress ministers of Maharashtra in the Maha Vikas Aghadi met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday at his New Delhi residence. The leaders also met party’s interim President Sonia Gandhi today to discuss their role in the running government and held a feedback session on the alliance.
The party also has to appoint a new state chief of Congress after Balasaheb Thorat got inducted as cabinet minister last month. Former chief minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan, who was considered the front-runner for the Speaker’s post, might become state chief of Congress.
