The Serum Institute of India, which developed the COVID-19 vaccine Covishield, experienced a major fire break out in their Pune headquarters building on Thursday.
As per reports, the fire broke out on the third floor of the building and more than five firefighter vans were deputed to save the day.
The cause of the fire was still not known and the firefighters were doing their best to control the situation. The laboratory, where the BCG vaccine was being manufactured was known to be the exact location of the fire breakout. Meanwhile, labs manufacturing the COVID-19 vaccine were safe.
