A 30-year-old man has been booked by Nagpur’s Tehsil Police for threatening NMC Assistant Commissioner Ashok Patil during a quarantine drive at Golibar Square on Tuesday.

As per the police, on Tuesday night, Patil along with his colleagues went to Golibar Square to detain around 40 citizens for putting them under institutional quarantine at Panchpaoli. During the drive, the man Mahesh Nathuji Devgone, who was also being taken to the quarantine centre in a bus, abused Patil and threatened him.

Based on Patil’s complaint, Tehsil Police have booked Devgone under sections 353, 294 and 506(b) of the IPC.
