As per a report in Mid-Day, a sequel of the 2016 film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (based on the life of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni) is being planned. According to the report, Sushant Singh Rajput, who played the role of MS Dhoni in the first film, will be reprising his role in the sequel, which will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP films.
The report states that the sequel will be based on MS Dhoni’s journey post the ICC 2011 World Cup win. The various wins in T20 games and the journey of Indian team in the ICC 2015 World Cup may be chronicled in the sequel. Apart from his cricketing achievements, the sequel may also chronicle Dhoni’s personal life. It’s also being reported that the sequel will require Dhoni’s active participation during the scripting process.
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, directed by Neeraj Pandey and starring Sushant Singh Rajput, was released in September 2016. The film was a major blockbuster and earned more than Rs 200 crore at the box office.
