Smart Cities Mission (SCM) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has planned numerous events across 100 Smart Cities from 27 September 2021 to 3 October 2021 as part of the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) to commemorate the 75th year of India's Independence.
This event was focused on the readiness of the cities to mitigate the nine challenges in urban India through technological interventions.
It showcased the successful technological ICT interventions to the citizens focusing on how cities are achieving technology-enabled freedom.
Citizens of Nagpur from various groups and sectors like doctors, lawyers, and charted accountants, company secretary, press reporters, college students and citizens were invited and provided information from a walkthrough of the ICCC centre.
Thereafter, they were taken to the hall where ICCC monitoring screens were installed and live demonstration of the following services - Integrated Traffic Management system like ANPR (Automatic Number plate Detection), RLVD (Red Light Violation Detection), (Freedom from Traffic), CCTV surveillance with the use of Artificial intelligence (Freedom from crime), Live traffic Challan , etc.
Also, the working process of prevention and detection of crime was demonstrated to the visitors with video Presentation of use cases of various crimes and road accidents. Visitor’s reviews and feedback were also taken after the visit, which were satisfactory and also gave suggestions for more improvements.
The AKAM event at ICCC was successfully completed under the guidance of Chief Executive officer of NSSCDCL Buvneswari S (IAS).
The presentation on ICT interventions was given By Dr Sheel Ghule, General Manager e-governance NSSCDCL, along with Anup Lahoti, Kunal Gajbhiye, Arati Choudhari and the Team of IT Assistants, NSSCDCL.
