After five days of no new positive case reported in Nagpur, a man, with a travel history to Delhi, tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday. The man, who is a resident of Mominpura, is the 17th person from Nagpur to be tested positive for COVID-19.

The man was among the people who were ordered to be quarantined by Ministry of Home Affairs as he had a travel history to Delhi, where the Tablighi Jamaat meet was organised last month. The man was traced a few days back by NMC, put under quarantine and tested for coronavirus.

As per media sources, NMC swung in action after the man tested positive. Officials reached Mominpura to ask the family members and people who came in contact with the man to quarantine themselves.

Since the man visited Delhi, there was news doing the rounds that the man had attended the Tablighi Jamaat meet held in Delhi last month. However, in a video, which is doing the rounds on the internet, the man has claimed that he is a businessman dealing in Taqiya (skull caps) and had gone to Delhi to buy the same.

However, officials seem to be having a different opinion for some reason. When Nation Next reached out to two government officials, we were told that the man had attended the Nizamuddin meet. Nation Next also tried to get in touch with nodal officer Dr Paturkar from IGGMCH but the calls were not answered.

With the man testing positive for coronavirus, the number of positive patients in the city is now 17. Four of the patients have been discharged and 13 are undergoing treatment.
