Cops from Ganeshpeth Police Station of Nagpur Police have recently arrested six men after busting a fake currency racket, informed Zone III DCP Lohit Matani informed during a press conference on Friday. Apart from arresting the six men the police have also seized fake currency of Rs 10,200 in denomination of Rs 100.
As per the police, on March 18 Ganeshpeth police got a tip-off about two men carrying fake currency and roaming around Tilak Putla Square near Gandhisagar Lake. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the police intercepted the two men and arrested them. The two men have been identified as: Javed Sayyed Hussain Sayyed (27), a basically from Chandrapur and currently residing in Nagpur, and Shaikh Sameer Shaikh Saleem (27), a resident of Bada Tajbagh. The men collectively were carrying 102 fake currency notes of Rs 100 denomination.
Later, after investigation, four other men were arrested and material used in making fake currency notes was also seized. The arrested men include: Mirza Sameer Beg (30), Nilesh Shalikram Modhariya (31), Abdul Adil Abdul Wahab (25) and Abdul Touseef Abdul Kaleem (21). The accused have been booked under sections 489 (a), 489 (b), 489 (k) and 34 of the IPC.
