Union Minister of Highway and Transport Nitin Gadkari, on Friday, said that he received ₹4 lakh per month from his YouTube videos, which he started posting during the early days of the COIVD-19 pandemic.
He said that the viewership of his YouTube videos increased during the lockdown and hence, YouTube started paying him a royalty on his work.
Gadkari said the same while reviewing the progress of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (DME) in Bharuch.
“During the lockdown, I did two things. I started cooking by watching online recipes and I gave online lectures at conferences and to students from foreign universities. I delivered more than 950 sessions, whose videos were uploaded on YouTube,” said Gadkari.
“Viewership of my YouTube channel increased and YouTube now pays me ₹4 lakh per month as royalty,” he stated.
The Union Minister also stressed on the need of having high-class performing roads to develop infrastructure and boost the economy. He also said that such projects would provide employment to the youngsters of India.
