Soon after the #Metoo movement gained momentum, producer of famous television show Tara (1990), Vinta Nanda, came forward and accused the most ‘Sanskari’ (cultured) actor of film and television industry of raping her. Vinita in her Facebook post shared her horrific story by narrating her 20-year-old ordeal in detail.
Vinta accused the ‘main lead’ of her show Tara, who was also the ‘television star of the decade.’ The show, which starred Alok Nath and Navneet Nishan in lead roles, is still remembered for its great storyline and powerful performances.
Vinta shared that the accused was ‘alcoholic, shameless and obnoxious,’ who would harass the female lead of the show. As a result, he had to quit the show. Vinta in a shocking claim revealed that she was brutally raped by the actor while she was heavily under the influence of alcohol. She even said that her drinks were mixed.
Vinta said, “I hadn’t just been raped, I was taken to my own house and had been brutalised. I couldn’t get up for my bed. I told some of my friends but everybody advised me to forget about it and move on.”
She concluded by saying, “Irony is that the man, the predator in question here is the actor par excellence who is known as the most #Sanskaari (Cultured) person in the film and television industry.”Read her full post below:
