Mumbai Crime branch, on Tuesday, made some shocking revelations in the Raj Kundra porn film business case.
As per officials, Kundra’s adult film business grew amid lockdown, which was imposed in March 2020 in the wake of COVID-19 global pandemic in India.
The officers claimed that Kundra made a whopping amount of ₹8 lakh per day from producing adult content under his media companies based in India and United Kingdom.
Kundra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, was on Monday, arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly producing adult films with his brother-in-law, Pradeep Bakshi.
They started an app called HotShots, which was regarded as India’s first ‘18+app.’
As per the latest investigation, the Mumbai Crime branch found out that Kundra’s wife Shilpa Shetty played no role in her husbands’ business.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Milind Bharambe, in a statement, said, “We have not been able to any find any active role of Shetty yet. We are investigating. We will appeal to the victims to come forward and contact the Crime Branch Mumbai and we'll take appropriate action.”
After Kundra’s arrest, Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hemant Nagrale had confirmed in a statement, "There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this."
Sources claimed that Kundra’s case could bring many other hidden dark truths of the entertainment industry.
