Maharashtra Minister and NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik on Thursday slammed the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) while saying that despite being one of the largest investigative agencies in the country, NCB does not know the difference between tobacco and marijuana. He also accused the NCB of defaming people.
Malik's statement comes two weeks after his son-in-law Sameer Khan was granted bail in a drugs case, which was filed against him by NCB in January 2021. Against the backdrop of the latest reports of the 'contraband' seized from Khan testing negative, Malik called the case a fabricated one by the NCB.
Malik also said that Khan had to spend eight months in jail because of the fake case. "Malik said: "The NCB does not know the difference between tobacco and marijuana. They said my my son-in-law had 200 kgs of cannabis, but it turned out to be herbal tobacco."
