Madhukar Marotrao Patil (65), a resident of Khare Town, Dharampeth, was robbed of his valuables worth Rs 95,000 by two men on Monday at around 8:45 am near Batukbhai Jewellers, WHC road, Nagpur.

Patil, after purchasing flowers, was heading towards his home on his Honda Activa (MH-31/DN/1167) when two unidentified men posing as crime branch officials stopped him. Patil was told to place his gold chain, gold ring and other valuables by the men in a handkerchief. The men then put the handkerchief in the dickey of Patil’s two-wheeler.

When the victim reached home, he discovered that the valuables in the handkerchief were missing. Patil, then filed a complaint with Sitabuldi Police. The police has registered a case under sections 170, 419, 420 and 34 of the IPC, against the unidentified thieves.
