A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Sun, Moon, and Earth are aligned in a straight line or are almost placed in a straight configuration and the moon ‘eclipses’ the Sun and the Earth. There are three kinds of Solar Eclipses – Total, Partial and Annular. The eclipse, which people have been witnessing today, is the Annular Eclipse that began at 9:15 am IST and would be visible till 3:04 pm IST today. The country witnessed the 'deepest' annular solar eclipse in over a century.
However, as per astrologers and experts, today’s eclipse is the fourth super rare hybrid eclipse that is a mix between an annular and total solar eclipse.
