The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), on Wednesday, October 13, said that within five-days, they had administered 78,240 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines in Nagpur city.
The said target was achieved under the Maharashtra government’s ‘Mission Kavach Kundal-’ a mega vaccination drive against COVID-19.
In a press release, the NMC mentioned, “A special campaign called 'Mission Kavach Kundal' is being implemented in the city for COVID-19 vaccination from October 8 to 14. Corporation's team is working on ward wise vaccination and for this, health workers, nurses, doctors, interns and representatives of NGOs are also cooperating.”
It further mentioned that between October 8 and October 12, 37,047 people were given the first dose and 41,193 citizens were given the second dose through the 'Mission Kavach Kundal' campaign.
“A total of 78,240 doses of vaccine were given. It is noteworthy that the number of people taking the second dose has increased in the meantime, informed Medical Health Officer Dr Sanjay Chilkar,” it added.
'Mission Kavach Kundal' campaign is being implemented in the city till October 14.
Under this, maximum number of citizens should take initiative for vaccination and go to their nearest centre out of 155 vaccination centres of the corporation and complete their vaccination, appealed Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari and Commissioner Radhakrishnan B.
