As soon as some media channels published reports of underworld gangster Rajendra Nikalje aka Chota Rajan's death due to COVID-19, officials at Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Services (AIIMS) on Friday afternoon clarified that Rajan was 'still alive and undergoing treatment for COVID-19.'
Rajan got infected with the virus on April 26. The 61-year-old criminal contracted the virus despite being in solitary confinement in Tihar Jail amid high security. It has been said he got infected through an asymptomatic official at the prison.
