Kamal Khan
Veteran journalist Kamal Khan, executive editor at NDTV, passed away on Friday (January 14) morning at the age of 61 after suffering a heart attack. Khan is survived by wife Ruchi and son Aman.
In an email, the company said: "It is a terrible, terrible day for NDTV. We have lost Kamal Khan; he was 61 and the heart and soul of our Lucknow bureau, an NDTV veteran who had boundless time and kind words for anyone who encountered him."
NDTV added: "Kamal’s reportage over the last decades stood out for its perceptiveness, integrity & the way he delivered hard truths with poetic dexterity. Most of all, he was a wonderful human being, who touched the lives of all those who knew him."
Kamal Khan was a recipient of the Ramnath Goenka Award, and the Ganesh Shanker Vidyarthi Award from the President of India.
