A shocking CCTV footage, that has been making rounds on social media, shows a motorcycle getting completely crushed and torn into pieces after train rams into it.
It was initially speculated that the video footage was either from Nagpur’s Itwari railway station or Rajahmundry railway station in Andhra Pradesh.
However, Rajahmundry Railway Police released a statement on Wednesday denying any such incident taking place there.
“A motorcyclist, who had tried to cross the track at railway gate, saw the train approaching, dropped his bike on the track and backed away. The train collided with the motorcycle and ripped it into pieces.”
“No such incident took place within the Rajahmundry railway station limits. Those who uploaded the video on WhatsApp groups are asked to recheck it and make necessary changes. We warn that it is a legal offence to cross the tracks in a hurry, while waiting at the railway gate,” Rajahmundry Railway Police said in the statement.
According to a NDTV report, the footage has actually emerged from Uttar Pradesh’s Bharwari Railway Station.
The motorcyclist, identified as 24-year-old Shahid Ali, reportedly tried to flee the spot, but was later apprehended. A case has been registered against him for the same.
