Former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik claimed that he was told that he would get ₹300 crore for clearing deals of Ambani and a RSS-linked man, who was a minister of state at that time.
He said the same while addressing a gathering in Rajasthan. Malik, who is currently serving as the Governor of Meghalaya, said, “After taking over as the Governor of Kashmir, two files came to my desk for approval. One was related to Ambani and the other one was sent by a top officer of RSS, who was a cabinet minister in Mehbooba Mufti-led state government.”
“The minister presented that he was very close to Prime Minister Modi. Secretaries of both the departments alerted me that there was some scandal involved in these deals. After hearing this, I cancelled both deals,” he said.
“They (secretaries) told me that I can get ₹150 crore in each deal. However, I refused to accept the bribe,” he added.
Malik, who has served as an MLA, MP and as a Union Minister in the past, praised PM Modi for taking his side in this issue and asking him, “not to compromise with corporation in any case.”
